The day was gorgeous. The show was well attended and the public seemed happy with the quality and variety of the art. Free popcorn was given out at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts Gallery booth as a reminder that the fund raising has begun to renovate the building to bring back the theater that was located there from the 1940s to 1974 (See Vicki's television interview below). Vicki's work can be seen at the Gallery. Above is this year's poster for Art on Main that Vicki designed. The Center for the Arts is now selling "green grocery" bags with the same design. Vicki's painting "Three Lakes Streetscape, Gallery" was the 2008 recipient of the Purchase Award at the 4th Annual Art on Main exhibition in Three Lakes, Wisconsin. Presenting the award were (pictured, left-to-right) Community Bank President Jim Levandowski, Branch Manager Brian Fritz, and Vicki. The painting will now hang in the M & I Bank in Three Lakes. Vicki also has several other paintings on exhibit at the bank until October 2008. "Barco el Futuro" watercolor 15" x 22" "Barco el Futuro" was juried into the 29th Annual Aqueous USA 2006 exhibit sponsored by the Kentucky Watercolor Society. "The Bait Bucket" Watercolor 22 x 30 "The Bait Bucket" was juried into the 30th Annual Aqueous USA 2007 exhibit sponsored by the Kentucky Watercolor Society.
VICKI IN THE NEWS Vicki on Wisconsin television! Vicki was again in the news in August, 2009, with another WJFW television interview as a follow-up to the renovations at the Three Lakes Theatre that have been completed. A year earlier, Vicki was interviewed to promote "Art on Main," an outdoor art show held in March and sponsored by the Three Lakes Center for the Arts in the Northwoods. Heather Schallock, News Director for WJFW in Rhinelander, was the interviewer.
